Announcing Ministry of Supply NYC

row

As a store location, New York City was the obvious next move. Not only is the city home to one of our largest customer bases, but its population of active, innovative people who approach their clothing decisions with intention is spot-on with what we stand for as a brand.

With each new Ministry of Supply location comes a fresh opportunity to completely rethink the in-person shopping experience. In our Soho space, that means melding our core passion for scientific invention with the opportunity to feel and try Ministry of Supply garments in person. It's an experience that's different from anything else in the neighborhood, and we're psyched for you to come and check it out yourself.

In addition to the full Ministry of Supply product line, here’s what you can expect at our Wooster Street store:

THE INSPIRATION: Our namesake – the original British Ministry of Supply – invented under-the-radar gadgets for secret agents (think: James Bond). The aesthetic theme and experience of our new NYC store speaks to that same scientific approach to apparel, through which we research, prototype, and test every last one of our concepts.

THE COFFEE BAR: You’ll find it in the back of our shop, where we’ll be serving up Toby's Estate Coffee via graduated cylinders. The coffee bar’s presence is two-fold: a reference to our use of coffee grounds as odor absorbers in a number of our products, and a nod to the lab experimentation we’re rooted in as a brand.

THE LAB: An homage to problem solvers – the people who work tirelessly until a better way is achieved – this part of the space is designed to serve as an outlet for curiosity. You’ll find lab benches topped with books and products to facilitate creative play and invention (think Legos), and plenty of room for you to tackle your own work, too.

THE LOCATION: 138 Wooster Street (between Prince and Houston) in Soho. The store officially opens Friday, July 17; hope to see you soon!
